ABCS’s goal is for our customers to have the best possible experience. This is why we strive to have the most complete and accurate collections of information, and the best search tools to support your research efforts. As part of your experience, we want you to feel confident that we will respect your privacy: We will protect the confidentiality not only of the information you provide to us, but also the information you obtain using the ABCS web site.

This Privacy Policy is designed to accomplish four objectives:

  • Tell you what we will and will not do with the information we do collect;
  • Tell you what information we do and do not collect;
  • Tell you how we protect the information we collect; and
  • Tell you what choices you have about your information and how to contact us if you have any questions, concerns or special requirements.

ABCS provides its web site as an aid to business professionals, and other professionals who are interested in safety training, and related content.

ABCS’s sole purpose in operating the web site is to provide accurate and up to date information to its users. ABCS never has, and never will “mine” the search strings submitted by users to our site for any reason.  ABCS has never sold any customer information to any third party, nor will we ever do so. We will continue to do everything in our power to protect the privacy of our customers’ searches. We collect only the information we need to provide accurate invoices to our customers and improve the quality and usefulness of our services to our users.

What Information We Collect

We collect the name, address, e-mail address and other personal information on each of our users as part of the registration process. This enables our users to access our web site without repetitive data entry. This information is used to communicate with our users about changes, new services, etc. In addition, we will aggregate personal information into demographic data about our users to enable ABCS to provide the most relevant and valuable services to our user community.

We also collect information for each User ID to support customer invoicing.

We also keep records of e-mails and telephone calls (including, at times, recordings of calls) to our customer service center. We do this to make sure the problems and issues you bring to our attention are resolved promptly and correctly.

What We Do With the Information We Collect

We use your information only for the operation of our web site, and for providing invoices to you. Your personal user information is never used for any purpose other than registration, log-in, billing and order tracking. In addition, we do not make your information available to any third parties. For example, we do not provide our customer lists to other businesses or service providers.

We maintain user log information long enough to generate a valid invoice or charge for chargeable services.

Security

The ABCS web site has been designed with your needs for privacy and security in mind

All of our user’s information, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing, accounts receivable or customer service representatives) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Finally, the servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure environment.

Other Sites
This site contains information from, and links to, other web sites. While we make every effort to ensure that these websites offer high-quality information ABCS cannot be responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these other web sites.

Accessing My Information

Users receive our newsletter and promotional materials as part of their service. Users can cancel their accounts (and stop receiving communications from ABCS) at any time by contacting us by email at admin@albertabcsafety.com or in writing at ABCS, Inc., Attn: Customer Support, 14930 118 Ave. NW, Edmonton, AB, T5V 1B8, Canada.

Correction/Updating Personal Information
If your personally identifiable information changes (such as your postal code), or if a user no longer desires our service, we provide a way to correct, update or remove that user’s personal data provided to us. This can be done online at our web site or by contacting us by email at admin@albertabcsafety.com or in writing at Alberta BC Safety, Attn: Customer Support, 14930 118 Ave NW., Edmonton, AB, T5V 1B8, Canada.

Notification of Changes
If we need to update our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our web-site, or notify our users by other means, so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under which circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will provide our users with a choice as to how their information will be used.
